Article 1 (Title) The Society shall be called the Korean Academy of Community Health Nursing of the Korean Society of Nursing Science. Article 2 (Purpose) The Society is aimed to promote companionship among the members of the Society and various academic research activities related to community health nursing. Article 3 (Office Site) The office of this Society shall be located in the institution the chairman is affiliated with. Article 4 (Activities) The Society shall engage in the following activities in order to achieve the purpose indicated in article 1 of Chapter 1
ⅰ. Research activities ⅱ.National academic academics and public relations ⅲ. International academic activities and exchanges ⅳ. Publication of journals and publishing business ⅴ. Activities for development of nursing education ⅵ. Other necessary activities
Chapter 2 Membership
Article 5 (Eligibility) The eligibility, duties and rights, withdrawal and expulsion of members shall be as mentioned in the regulations of the Korean Society of Nursing Science. Article 6 (Duties) Each member of the Society shall become a member through the Korean Society of Nursing Science and shall follow various rule, regulations and decisions of this society.
ⅰ. Each member of the Society shall pay the membership fee required.
Chapter 3 Organization and Executives
Article 7 (Executives) The Society shall have the following executives
ⅰ. 1 Chairman ⅱ. 1 Vice-chairman ⅲ. 1 Secretary ⅳ. 1 Clerk ⅴ. 1 Educational Director ⅵ. 1 Financial Director ⅶ. 1 Academic Director ⅷ. 1 Publication Director ⅸ. 1 Public Relations Director ⅹ. 1 International Relations Director ⅹⅰ.a number of regional representative directors ⅹⅱ. a number of chairmen from other community health relevant societies ⅹⅲ. 2 Auditors
Article 8 (Duties)
ⅰ. Chairman shall represent the Society, be in charge of the affairs of the Society and shall act as the chairman of general meetings. ⅱ. Vice-chairman shall aid the chairman and be responsible for various matters of the Society by cooperating with the chairman ⅲ. Secretary shall be responsible for various general activities of the Society. ⅳ. Clerk shall record and report all minutes of each meeting and preserve all necessary documents. ⅴ. Financial Director shall be responsible for the finance of the Society. ⅵ. Educational director shall be responsible for all educational activities ⅶ. Academic Director shall be responsible for the academic activities of the Society. ⅷ. Publication Director shall be responsible for all publication matter in academic activities of the Society. ⅸ. Public Relations Director shall be responsible for all public relations activities of the Society. ⅹ. International Relations Director shall be responsible for all international academic activities and international exchanges of the Society. ⅹⅰ. Regional representative directors shall promote activities of the regional members. ⅹⅱ. Chairmen of other academic societies related to community health shall cooperate with the Society as leaders. ⅹⅲ. Auditors shall be responsible for auditing the business of the Society.
Article 9 (Committee) A separate committee may be introduced for the organization and activities of this Society. Separate committees shall their own regulations. Article 10 (Election) The chairman shall be elected at the general meeting through a majority vote of the members present. Article 11 The vice-chairman shall be selected from community health nursing professors within the region of the chairman in the next term. Article 12 Auditors shall be elected at the general meeting through a majority vote. Article 13 Executives shall be appointed by chairman. Article 14 The terms of executives are as follows.
ⅰ. The executives of the Society shall be in office for two yars. ⅱ. The executives of the Society shall be elected for a single term
Article 15 Except for the chairman, on the occurrence of a vacancy in the office of an executive, his/her successor shall be filled by the Board of Directors and shall be in office for the remaining term of his/her predecessor.
Chapter 4 Members
Article 16 (Composition) The Society shall hold regular general meetings, extra-ordinary general meetings and board meetings. Article 17 The regular general meetings shall be held every December and the extra-ordinary general meetings shall be convened by chairman when there is a request from 1/3 of the member or when chairman finds the meeting necessary. Article 18 The regular general meetings shall consider the following
ⅰ. Revision of regulations ⅱ. Settlement of budget and accounts ⅲ. Election of executives ⅳ. Planning for projects ⅴ. Discussion of other items
Article 19 Board meetings shall be held 1 or more times quarterly.
Chapter 5 Finance
Article 20 Article 10. The fiscal year of the society shall be from December 1st to November 30th every year.
Article 21 The fiscal year of the Society shall be from February 1st to December 31st every year.
Article 1 This regulation may be revised with 2/3 votes of the attended members. Article 2 This regulation shall come into force on the day of the passing of the revision at the general meeting. Article 3 All matter shall follow general customs unless otherwise specified in this regulation.

These regulations stipulates the ethical responsibilities and rights of the scholars of nursing in their research, publication of research results, academic presentations, etc.
These regulations are based on the Nuremberg Code of Ethics, Helsinki Declaration, the code of ethics of Korean nurses, etc.
The members of the Korean Society of Nursing Science shall observe the following regulations, and will be subject to the decision of the ethics committee of the Korean Society of Nursing Science if they violate any of the regulations.
Chapter 1 General Rules
Article 1 (Purpose) These regulations aim to stipulate the ethics established by the foundation of the Korean Society of Nursing Science (hereinafter 'the society') in relation to the research, publication, academic presentation, etc. of its members. Article 2. (Objects and scope of application) These regulations shall apply to the members of the society, and the programs hosted by the society and other servcice providers.
Chapter 2 Research
Article 3 (Research execution) In the process of planning and executing researches, members shall observe the code of ethics, and shall not violate research ethics by absurdities or inappropriate activities in research.
1. Absurdities in research mean the forgery, falsification, plagiarism, or unjust indication of the author of the thesis committed in the processes of planning and executing of the research, reporting of the research results, or inspection of the research.
① Forgery means creating a nonexistent data or research results untruthfully. ② Falsification means fabricating research data, equipment, or processes artificially or changing or omitting the data to distort the contents or results of the research. ③ Plagiarism means using the ideas or research results of others without due quotation. ④ Unjust indication of the author of the thesis means granting the status of the author of the thesis to someone who did not make scientific or technological contribution to the contents or results of the research or not granting the status of the author of the thesis to someone who made scientific or technological contribution to the contents or results of the research without due reasons.
2. Inappropriate activities in research mean the following activities:
① Conniving, abetting, or covering absurdities ② Infringing upon the rights of the research objects ③ Illegitimate collection of research data ④ Conducting and publishing two or more research tasks with the same contents without prior approval ⑤ Publishing a thesis of the same contents in two or more academic journals in the same language or another language without quotation mark ⑥ Not disclosing the source when the research reuses the past writings of the researcher ⑦ Making a false statement on the educational background, career, qualifications, research performances and results of the researcher ⑧ Intentionally obstructing the investigation on the suspected absurdities of the researcher or others or harming the reporter of such absurdities ⑨ Other matters recognized by the ethics committee as inappropriate activities
Article 4. (Research assistants) While executing the research, members shall not infringe upon the rights of the research assistants who participate in the research such as graduate students or other juniors researchers or insult them. The research assistants should be treated rightfully according to their level of contribution.
Article 5. (Research objects)
1. The researcher who studies human beings shall assume the following responsibilities for the research objects:
① The spontaneity of the objects for the participation in the research shall be guaranteed. ② The objects shall be fully explained about the purpose and methods of the research, expected effects, potential danger, possible inconveniences, and the benefits and damages which may be caused by their participation in the research, and it is essential to have their consent. ③ The safety and health of the objects shall be guaranteed. Precautions shall be made to prevent the slightest harm to the object, and the research shall be stopped if an unexpected danger occurs. ④ If the research objects are patients, the patients who belong to the control group shall be offered the same information on the newly attempted nursing method as is offered to the treated group so that they may not be damaged by concealment of information or deprivation of opportunity in the research. ⑤ The research object has the right to cancel their participation in the research in the middle of the research. ⑥ The privacy and personal secret of the research object shall be protected.
2. The approval of the organization judging committee is necessary for the researches of human beings, but with the exception of the following cases:
① a research of animals (A research of animals shall be approved by the animal organization judging committee.) ② a research on administration or system ③ a research which uses secondary data like meta research ④ other researches irrelevant to the examination of organization judging committee
3. The following matters shall be observed to protect the objects like patients or students who are dependent to the researcher:
① It shall be clearly stated that the patients or students will not be treated unfavorably at all if they refuse to participate in the research, and measures shall be taken to protect them. ② If participating in the research is compulsory for a class or an opportunity for receiving additional scores, other alternatives should be offered to all the students of the class so that the students can make choices voluntarily for themselves.
Article 6. (Research fund)
1. Members shall conclude research contracts by themselves for the execution of researches. 2. Members shall use the research fund transparently and truthfully according to the regulations of the organization which manages the research fund. 3. Members shall clearly state the name of the supporting organization when presenting the results of the research which received research fund.
Chapter 3 Publication and presentation
Article 6. (Publication)
1. The publication of the results of an academic research shall be original.
2. The process of the judgment of the theses contributed to this society shall be maintained fair observing the regulations of the judgment of theses so that the contributors will not be treated unfair. The reviewer shall pay special attention to the following matters to maintain fairness.
① The reviewer shall respect the personality and scholastic independence of the contributor. When writing the evaluation opinions, the reviewer shall explain what needs to be revised or complemented in detail. The reviewer cannot ask the contributor to submit additional data or explanation for the personal purpose of the reviewer. ② The reviewer shall make objective evaluation on the basis of professionalism. The reviewer shall not evaluate the thesis subjectively according to the personal academic belief or assumption or the reviewer which has not been proved perfectly or by the personal relationship with the contributor. ③ The reviewer shall guarantee the secret of the thesis requested for evaluation. Other than for the reason of receiving a special advice, the thesis being evaluated shall not be shown to or discussed with other people. The thesis may not be quoted before it is published.
3. A paper examiner is responsible to report to the editing committee and the ethics committee if any absurdities or inappropriate activities are found in the process of inspection of the research procedures and the description of the research results.
4. The above regulations shall be applied to the academic journals of member societies.
Article 7. (Academic presentation) The verbal presentation or poster which is presented at an academic meeting hosted by the society must not have been presented at another national academic meeting. However, if the material presented in the academic meeting is to be published in a periodical journal, it must not have been published in the journal of the society.
Article 1. These regulations take effect on the day they are approved by the BOD.
